Wait

Don’t leave
after what we shared
When the night melted
and you held my heart inside yours

Why the distance now
Between each silent space we created
like architects designing
a lambent love

How I slowly unfurled under your
gentleness
How like the sea you are
enveloping the storm of me
part of its creation
part of its dissolution

Wait
Don’t give up give out give in to your impatience
Don’t leave for lack of my indecision
Inside me rages the past
A tempest
hurting
crashing against each cell
the organism of me hoping
to be immersed constantly
by the expansiveness of you

Don’t go
stay
talk to me
touch me
I want to hear myself in you
I want to hold you in me
I want to help you help me help you help me help you love me love you
